Viola Fairweather

Hello everyone!!How have you all been??
It's been a while, I know. Do you,by any chance, remeber the victorian project me and my friend are working on?Well, guess what: a new character!!! (well, one of the lot actually, there are more to come)

This is Viola Fairweather in her walking dress, on of the many she owns naturally.

At the age of seventeen she had fallen in love with one of her older brother’s friends and she had eloped with him; her parents had not heard a word about her whereabouts for a period of six months; then she had showed up at their house, claiming she had gotten a divorce.

No questions had been asked; her parents had simply taken her back and had hastily arranged a marriage between her and one of her father’s friends, Ernest Fairweather.  A month later she had found herself married to him and she and her brand new husband had left for their year-long honeymoon across Europe.

Shortly afterwards their return to Ernest’s house in Oxford, Ernest’s nephew, Laurence, who had just returned from America, had come to visit.

He was a very charming man; well-educated, charismatic, well-travelled and good looking; needless to say, it had not been long before he and Viola became lovers.

He had been attracted to her since the moment his uncle had introduced them, but she had been his uncle’s wife and that had hold him back. As for Viola, she was an eighteen year old woman, who had married a man that was old enough to be her grandfather; and then she had met Laurence, who was charming and young and paid her a vast amount of attention.

They had not been very discrete about their affair; they had been repeatedly found in compromising situations but they had not cared; rumour had it that even Earnest himself had found them in bed together but they somehow had managed to redeem themselves in his eyes.

As it turned out though, Earnest had not forgiven them; in his will, he had inherited only his city house in London and a small amount of money to Viola, while he had inherited everything else he owned to Laurence.

Viola had not taken it well; she had ended their affair and had refused to talk to him ever since. She had returned to London and was slowly re-introducing herself to the upper classes.

Needless to say, she had managed to make everyone talking about her once again; no matter what, Viola was a widow and she should be acting like one, instead of going to tea parties.
